MLBA Philippines Donates 17,000 Shoeboxes Filled with School Supplies for Local Kids in Need

Poverty is one of the challenges many impoverished Filipino children face that hinders them from dreaming of a better tomorrow. Since 2009, IBPAP (Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines) and TeamAsia have spearheaded an initiative to empower underprivileged children to fight poverty through education called My Dream in a Shoebox.

In its ninth year, this annual education campaign aims to equip less fortunate children in the region with school supplies that will help them reach for a brighter future. Making Lives Better with Alorica (MLBA) and its Philippines chapters have participated in this program the last two years, with this year being recognized as a Platinum Sponsor for donating more than 17,000 shoeboxes out of the 49,994 collected thus far. The boxes were delivered and distributed to local schools including Alabang Elementary School, Payatas Orione Foundation and Parokya Pedro Calungsod.
